One Fabulous Year

My husband, Richard, and I are celebrating our first anniversary today and I can’t believe it’s been an entire year. I guess it’s true: Time flies when you’re having fun (and spending it with those you love). Anyway, as we celebrate we’re both feeling so nostalgic for New York. We got married in Central Park (at exactly the spot where he proposed) and then went for a sweet dinner with family and few close friends at the Carlyle Hotel. So old-New-York and beautiful. The next time you’re in Manhattan and on the Upper East Side I recommend stopping in and ordering a Gin and Tonic at the bar. I’ll leave you with pictures of the entrance and lobby (it’s soooo stunning) as I get ready for a night out with the man I love.

A Happy Belated Anniversary to you! I love the Carlyle, too. I was lucky enough to see Bobby Short perform in the Cafe Carlyle six months before he passed. In fact, seeing him perform was the whole reason for the trip to NYC. I even shook his hand in the seating area just down the hall from the lobby. One of the best moments of my life. Thanks so much for these pictures and your appreciation of that beautiful hotel. It brought back memories of a truly magical night. Best, Franny

Thank you! Franny, that sounds magical! But then again the Carlyle seems to be that kind of place for that sort of thing. I'm hoping to make a return trip sometime soon. Best to you, Anne
